Comments: Every now & then it's real nice to be at the crib all by myself, chillin' and enjoying some good music. Maze always works into that mix, and today is no different!! I spent the last couple of hours listening to old school CD's, Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On", War's "All Day Music" and Maze's "Back to Basics". Man, classic music always stands the test of time! I didn't realize how prophetic Marvin and Frankie have always been! Songs like "In Time" and "All Night Long" have taken on a whole new, deeper meaning since Sept. 11th, and I just want to thank Frankie and the boys for keeping it real all these years. Frankie, you know that the "brothers" have always adored & respected you just for being "one of us", and I hope I get a chance to meet you one day just to say "whazzup & thanks". Over the years, I've met Mike White and "Ziggy" Linsey at jazz sets in L.A., and through them there's no doubt that the Maze "spirit" runs deep. I know that you can't be in two places at one time but I surely would settle for the October 28th date. (SMILES) However, you know whenever you return to Chicago, Chicago will be truly blessed.
