I convinced 8 of my girlfriends to get tickets to your June 14 father's day show in Baton Rouge and I am also coming to the Altanta show. I was on your tour date page and I didn't see Baton Rouge date on there we are looking forward to seeing you perform. Comments: Dear Mr. B, good tidings to you, the Maze family and all in MAZE land. I have been reflecting on your current message. One line in particular, "we must find our way back to the family!" I would like to share with you a poem I wrote over 20 years ago. A family's tragedy sparked the sentiment expressed. This family lost a son in 1992 and about 3 years later a second son was killed to some of the craziness our communities were experiencing. Unfortunately the craziness continues. The poem: Words for Jahi and Russell. Something is amiss! Something is turned around. The old are now burying the young. What went astray? Tell me, please! What did I miss? What lesson must be learned? WHAT! WHAT! No longer do we questioned why! But what, what is it that we forgot? Did the LOVE stop? Did the RESPECT stop? Perhaps the THINKING stopped! Or did we forget who we are? And who we are, is not where we are or what we wear or even where we go for funnin'!! We are LIFE GIVERS and LIFE LOVERS. The things we had were never that important in themselves. Ourselves, our relationships, our word - Represented by our POSITIVE actions. Once was what we could really depend upon! NO this THING now is not US. This life stopping. Hate filled thing is not us. Something is still amiss, Things are turned around. What is it? What is it that we have LOST!! One thing I think we as a community must do is to stop letting our selves be defined by others. As long as the abnormal defines what is normal, we will "messed up"!! Let the dialogue begin!! Comments: Frankie, Going through the family and friends photos today, just looking at Tiera...seems just like yesterday that she was that little girl you talked about including Ava Rose, but Tiera has grown up to be just a lovely young lady at the age of 16! I know it made her day to meet one of her favorite artist, Alicia Keys. You can tell it in her face how overjoyed she was! You have a beauty queen there, along with the little Princess, Ava Rose!
